Phalaenopsis Simon Schunter (Phalaenopsis taenialis x equestris)

A batch of our cross Phalaenopsis equestris x taenialis (registered at RHS as Phalaenopsis Simon Schunter) is blooming again at the moment. Photos were taken with my mobile because our camera doesn't work anymore.

First post

We have a greater Phalaenopsis collection and are breeding Phalaenopsis species and primary hybrids.
Our collection is relatively stable as we are not buying new orchids.

"We" means me (Simon) and my wife.
At first my wife was very interested in orchids. In 2003 - after I noticed that it is possible to breed with orchids - I joined in the hobby of my wife.
Between 2006 and 2010 I continued this hobby without my wife, because our childreen were born during this time.
Since last year my wife cares about the plants again and is doing the main parts (watering,...).

In this blog I will report about our orchids, new and older hybrids and mainly post images of the plants.
I am not interested in ambitious photos.
I take them to show my plants and not to win photo contests ;-)

And now have fun reading my blog, feel free to comment and have a good time here.
